Student Life
The Château de Sauveterre is a wonderful setting in which to spend an extended stay in France fully immersed in the language and culture. Pupils board in both the 19th Century château and its former stable block, Les Communs, both built in the style toulousain and surrounded by beautiful parkland. In the distance the magnificent Pyrenees stretch along the horizon are often the first thing the pupils see in the morning given the clement weather that we are often blessed with in the southwest of France. There are plenty of spaces for the pupils to enjoy a broad range of activities outside the classroom, including our Salle d’activités and Salle de jeux, where they can spend time playing music, games, or relaxing with their friends during their free time.

La Musique
Whilst at the Château pupils are able to continue their music lessons with their teachers back in the UK via video call. There are plenty of musical instruments on offer for them to play and practise in their free time as well as a number of talented musicians amongst the staff.
Les Chambres
Pupils are allocated to four-person or six-person rooms located in both the Château and the Communs buildings. They sleep in bunk beds and have plenty of space to store their belongings and a pinboard to personalise their space during the stay. All the dorms are in close proximity to the toilet and shower facilities.

Le Parc
The Château sits in stunning wooded grounds with views across the countryside towards the Pyrenees in the distance. One of the highlights of every pupil's stay are the wide games in the grounds, such as the Riva Games and Mr Woods, led by Mr Stacchini. There is a potager for growing vegetables as well as vines and fruit trees. During free time, there are plenty of spaces to relax, including a firepit area for evenings spent toasting marshmallows and having a sing-song!
Les Sports
There are a wide range of sports facilities at the Château: hard courts for tennis and basketball; a swimming pool for use in the Spring and Autumn; a beach volleyball court; and a full-size football / lacrosse pitch with goals. Pupils have sports timetabled as part of their weekly programme but are also free to use the sports facilities during free time, which may include a game of cricket on the central lawn or some rugby down on the pitch.

Les Repas
Our fantastic kitchen staff cook meals with a distinctly French flavour. The pupils eat in the salle à manger and salon rouge in the Château. Every few weeks there is a special themed meal introducing the pupils to some of the country's gastronomic specialities. There is always fresh French bread with every meal and pupils have free access to a basket of fresh fruit throughout the day.
